Hyperion Ensemble: Five to Six

The Hyperion Ensemble features two works by Bruckner and Schubert, two purely Austrian composers with more similarities: Both did very little travelling, did not care about success and worked only for their own sake. They did not care about disappointments and advice from well-meaning colleagues. The degree of their success today and the way we regard them now could only be suspected during their lifetime – if at all. Real bullheaded individuals, and the world is envious that Austria has them.
